50 antique stones stolen from historical palace restored

Local authorities and those of antiquates managed to restore 50 antique
stones from persons who took them last week from walls of a historical place
in the district of Bilad Alrouse, 50 km south-east Sana'a. Director of
Antiquities Office of Sana'a governorate Muhanad al-Siyaie clarified to
almotamar.net that social figures and inhabitants of Shibaa village in which
al-Sabaya historical palace is situated committed themselves to guard the
historical site and its contents. He praised the role of the local council
of the governorate and the district in warning the citizens there against
digging contents of the historical palace. The guard of the fortress pledged
in writing to protect the antique stones of the palace against being
tampered with, some of who last week had transferred some of those stones to
use in building their houses while the guard was absent. Al-Siyaie added the
concerned authorities of the government are in the process of preparing
complete report on diggings and renovations and fencing the fortress to be
presented as s study to be funded in future.
