The article offers up new detail about the extortion attempt practiced last
year against Gisela Fischer, heir of a Pissarro painting looted by the
Gestapo in 1938. In particular, there are new revelations in e-mail seized
by German investigators, and new and disturbing revelations about the role
of Art Loss Register.

This is a major scandal, and some of us have lived it behind the scenes,
unfortunately... It's been a difficult year for teachers at CMC.

Thank you for keeping the Summer 2007 ArtNews article posted. It's been very
helpful to have that online, and it's how most faculty first heard about the
scandal.
