Thailand's national treasures protected by Sanyo CCTV
Sanyo, Thailand's leading technology provider, is focusing its 2008
marketing strategy on social responsibility activities. The first project in
co-operation with the Office of National Buddhism, aims to implement Sanyo
CCTV security systems at important national historical sites around the
country.
The pilot project of the strategy, which is known as "Protect National
Treasure by Sanyo CCTV", is at Wat Bang Pla Mor in Amphur Bangbal, Ayudhya
province, and more projects are expected to follow throughout 2008.
The project aims to encourage both Sanyo and its customers to give the
communities a helping hand. For every 100 units of Sanyo CCTV sold, Sanyo
will donate one unit with a complete installation package to an ancient
temple or local historic site.
Sanyo expects a 25% increase in sales in 2008 which will amount to the sale
of 20,000 units. This means that the company will be able to donate at least
200 units of Sanyo CCTV worth about seven million baht to the social
responsibility project this year.
The list of important historical sites in Thailand is provided by the Office
of National Buddhism. The project expects to implement security systems to
over 50 important Buddhist temples across the country. The most important
national historic sites will receive special security implementation to
prevent antique objects being stolen.
Sanyo will provide expert technicians to implement CCTV security systems at
national historic temples. This service includes a training programme for
the people responsible for the site's security. Most Thai temples are still
lacking a reliable security system, resulting in the theft of valuable
objects and antiquities such as old Buddha statues and donation boxes.
