Police have arrested and charged eight teenagers with arson after a fire at
an Auckland museum.

A 121-year-old railway carriage at the Museum of Transport and Technology
was destroyed by the fire on Friday night.

Police say residents near the museum gave them vital information that helped
lead to the arrests.

The eight accused will appear in Youth Court on Thursday.
