Hyderabad, January 25: At least four persons were reportedly taken into
custody by the City and the Cyberabad police in connection with the
sensational theft at the AP State Museum at Public Gardens on January 17.

Unconfirmed reports suggested that one of the two swords, belonging to the
Nizam's era and was stolen from the museum, was also recovered. However, the
police did not confirm the news.

According to sources, the four suspects were believed to be hailing from
Maharashtra and Bihar. They are said to have been brought to the museum
premises late Wednesday night after which they led the sleuths to an
isolated place near the railway tracks behind public gardens, from where the
sword was reportedly recovered.

It is learnt that the sleuths also called some officials from the AP State
Museum to identify whether the recovered sword was the same. It is not clear
whether they have confirmed to the police that it was the same one, which
was stolen from the museum.

Miscreants had entered the museum and made away with two swords belonging to
the Nizam's period and other antiques.
