Eric Lamar McCullough, 19, has been charged with burglary, grand theft and
criminal mischief for burglarizing the Historic Walton-DeFuniak Library,
according to a release from the DeFuniak Spring Police Department.
Police believe McCullough is the individual who forced his way into the
library and stole an undisclosed amount of cash as well as four antique
pieces that have been on display for many years.
The antiques were recovered in a wooded area near South 17th Street and Van
Buren Avenue, the opposite side of town from the library.
The library break-in was one of seven recent burglaries. Those burglaries
are currently under investigation.
Anyone with information that leads to an arrest will be eligible for a cash
reward.
