Thieves threw a granite block through the window of a Mousehole art gallery
before reaching in and stealing two paintings each valued at £500.The
incident, which occurred at The Little Picture Gallery at around 3am on
Sunday morning, left gallery owners Paul and Judy Joel picking up the pieces
of broken glass.
The paintings of harbour scenes which were stolen were signed by artist Judy
Joel.
Each painting has a small mouse inscribed on the lower right hand corner.
Witnesses gave descriptions of two white men who are suspected to have been
involved.
The first male is described as being of stocky build, aged between and 50
and 60, with short, fair hair. He was said to be wearing a cream jacket. His
younger accomplice is described as being more than six foot tall with a slim
build and spiky dark hair.
