Dear Friends/members of the Museum Security Network,

We had the pleasure to discover your community some time ago while searching for incidents occurred in the property of the cultural heritage. We were impressed by the high activity level of the mailing list.
We are an international group of conservator-restorers brought together by the idea of promoting free access to information in the field of cultural heritage. We invested our efforts to create an online open access magazine dedicated to all the professionals involved in this field. We are pleased to invite you to visit the website at http://www.e-conservationline.com/. The first issue of the magazine will be available on the website from September / October 2007 in digital format and will be free to download. Meanwhile we do our best to develop the community spirit between the members and to encourage exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge in an active way. The website is providing news and events, is offering the possibility of browsing for courses, jobs, internships and volunteer opportunities and soon will give to the members the chance to communicate directly through a message board.
At this moment our main goal is to extent the awareness of interdisciplinary between conservation and its related fields, such as the preventive and safety initiatives against any affective factors, care and management of collections and art works of the cultural property, insurance methods in case of transporting, against art theft and forgeries among others.
We wish to provide our members not only news on this subjects but also educational articles and communications, to give them the opportunity of being always informed and aware of the many aspects that may be involved in conservation of the works of art.
We are on the same way pleased to invite you to actively participate in our project. We are open to those that wish to send us their articles, ideas or opinions. We would like to devote a special section in the magazine to these issues but as this is a volunteer work at the moment for all of us we would be pleased to get as much help and support we can get.

We announced a Call for Papers on the page which is open to everyone interested.
