Appeal over Lenkiewicz art theft
Police in Devon are asking art collectors to be on the lookout after the theft of a valuable artwork by a well-known Plymouth artist.
The painting by Robert Lenkiewicz is called Study - Karen Ciambriello and is valued at £12,000.
It measures 24.5in (62.2cm) by 14.5in (36.8cm) and depicts a blonde woman in a red dress sitting on a chair.
It was taken from a gallery in Totnes on Monday. Police are looking for man in his late 30s with greying hair.
Officers believe the suspect went into the shop, the owners of which wish to remain anonymous, concealed the painting and then left.
The 60-year-old artist died in August 2002.
