Burglars steal valuable paintings

A painting by Joseph Farquharson valued at £100,000 was stolen
Images of several valuable oil paintings stolen from a house in
Bourton-on-the-Water have been released by police in the Cotswolds.

Thieves broke into the house off High Street after forcing a rear window.

They stole paintings by George Edwards Hering, William Frederick
Witherington and Joseph Farquharson.

The painting by Farquharson, for example, is valued at £100,000. Anyone with
information about the burglary is urged to contact police.

The theft happened between 2100 GMT on Monday 18 December 2006 and 0800 GMT
on Tuesday 19 December.
