A zoo of brass and bronze yard decorations worth about $15,000 was taken
from Northwest Side home in December and the Pima County Sheriff's
Department is asking for help tracking down the menagerie.
Thieves snatched brass sculptures of an elephant, two horses, two giraffes
and a unicorn. A bronze life-size, female nude was also stolen from the
yard, according to a press release from the Pima County Sheriff's
Department.
The sculptures range in size from 2 to 8 feet tall, said Deputy Dawn
Barkman, a Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.
Investigators believe the yard decorations were stolen from a home in the
7800 block of North Como Drive near West Magee Road and North La Cholla
Boulevard, between Dec. 22 and Dec. 27, according to the release.
The victims returned from an out-of-town trip and realized the sculptures
were missing.
There are no leads or suspects in the case, Barkman said.
Anyone with information about the yard decorations' whereabouts is asked to
contact Detective J. Martin at 351-6415 or 88-CRIME.
