The painted silk mourning picture in original period gilt frame measures
approximately 22 by 20 inches, with an eglomise glass liner.Frenchtown,
N.J.:Sometime between January 27 and 28, a painting valued at between $4,500
and $5,000 was taken from an antiques shop here. The painted silk mourning
picture in original period gilt frame measures approximately 22 by 20
inches, with an eglomise glass liner.
A paper on the base of the urn reads, "Sacred To The Memory Of Mrs Mary
Warren, Roxbury , Jan 14 A.D. 1803 In The Ninetieth Year Of Her Age. The
Name Of Righteous Shall Be Heard In Everlasting Remembrance."
According to the owner of the painting, there is paint loss at the bottom of
the eglomise glass liner. It is believed that Roxbury most likely refers the
town in Massachusetts.
