Northern Territory police are investigating the theft of eight pieces of
Aboriginal art stolen in Alice Springs last week.

The total value of all the missing paintings is about $12,000.

They had been brought to Alice Springs from Haasts Bluff by two Ikuntji Art
Centre employees.

The pair noticed the paintings were missing on Wednesday morning after
parking their troop carrier at the Whitegums Motel on Gap Road the previous
night.
