There are missing posters for puppies and kittens, but how about this... http://blogs.jsonline.com/artcity/archive/2007/08/15/another-art-theft.aspx
Two charcoal drawings by James Kloiber hanging in the Third Ward's trendy new restaurant, Water Buffalo, have apparently been stolen.
Kloiber's exhibit of more than 20 large poster-sized pieces opened at Water Buffalo on Gallery Night last month. Kloiber sold several works on opening night and more since. One of the stolen artworks is part of a triptych recently shown at the "Three Degrees of Francis Bacon" show at the Milwaukee Art Museum in March (curated by Brent Gohde of Cedar Block).
The other piece is an abstract portrait of MKE staff photographer C. Taylor. It is marked "Ctay," Taylor's nickname, in white on the front, bottom right.
Kloiber is a Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design graduate, a designer, illustrator and photographer for The Shepherd-Express and one of the founders of Info Magazine.
Anyone with inforation about the theft should call Water Buffalo: (414) 431-1133.
(Journal Communications owns MKE, as it does the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel).
