Armed men steal paintings, including Monet, from French museum

NICE, France: A group of armed, masked men burst into a museum in the southern French city of Nice on Sunday and made off with four paintings worth about €1 million (US$1.4 million), police said.
One of the paintings stolen from the Museum of Beaux Arts was by French master Claude Monet, while another was by Monet's fellow Impressionist Alfred Sisley, police. Two were by Flemish master Pieter Bruegel.
Five men wearing masks and jumpsuits burst into the museum during opening hours, armed with handguns, police said. Two of them fled on a motorcycle, while the three others escaped by car. Further details were not immediately available.
