The International Foundation for Cultural Property Protection (IFCPP) offers
it's national certification workshop on Thursday, May 17, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00
p.m. The Certified Institutional Protection Manager designation (CIPM) is
awared to applicants demonstrating both education and experience in a
management or administrative role, responsible for cultural property
protection, safety, and security. Management level courses are presented in
a full day of classroom work, followed by a short on-site written exam.
Coursework includes emergency preparedness, physical security, fire
protection, legal considerations, workplace violence prevention, protection
of collections, staff training, business continuity planning and more.
This program is especially suited for directors, registrars, curators,
facility managers, protection managers and others responsible for protecting
collections. Workshop will be held at the Chicago Hilton.
