Bombing victims drop claim to Iranian artifacts

DETROIT (AP) - A group of Americans injured in a 1997 terrorist bombing are
no longer trying to obtain Iranian artifacts from three Michigan museums as
restitution. 

The nine bombing victims asked a Detroit federal judge to dismiss their
motion to seize the antiquities from two University of Michigan museums and
the Detroit Institute of Arts. But they could still re-file their claim once
similar efforts against the University of Chicago, Harvard and the Museum of
Fine Arts in Boston are settled. 

The bombing victims won a $71 million judgment against the Iranian
government in 2003. 

A federal judge ruled the bombing in Jerusalem wouldn't have occurred
without Iran's sponsorship.
