Police seize 40 paintings and other stolen items

FLORIANA, Malta (di-ve news) -- March 30, 2006 -- 1300CESTPolice have seized
around 40 paintings, digital equipment and other IT related items, a pistol
and a fire-arm allegedly stolen from a garage in Msida. 

The police have also arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the case.
Preliminary investigations show that the paintings were stolen from a
residence in St. Paul's Bay during January. 

The man will be arraigned in court in the coming days, while further
investigations are underway.
