Library Reopens After Massive Fire
(AP) Virginia, Minn. A restored public library was formally unveiled in
Virginia, Minn. more than a year after it was damaged by fire and
temporarily closed. 

The April 14, 2005, fire caused $2.8 million in damages to the library and
the neighboring Fifth Avenue Department Store. The library closed for six
months, and 30,000 items were damaged beyond repair. 

Officials held a grand reopening Monday that included library officials,
patrons and legislators. "It has been a challenging 14 months," Arrowhead
Library System Director Jim Weikum said.
