A 54-year-old man was arrested in Thessaloniki yesterday on charges of
illegal antiquities trade, police said. Authorities found in his possession
eight coins dating from Hellenistic and Roman times, two crosses and 12
millstones, among other items. Another 31 unknown pieces were found, which
have been sent to experts for identification after a raid on the suspect's
home and farm, police added.
