Eight thousand antique coins stolen from the Iraqi museum 


Iraqi National-WNA / Baghdad Office / Culture Ministry / An informed source
in the Ministry of Culture said that the Iraqi museum had been able to
rehabilitate some monuments and the museum will show more than 70 thousands
pieces in all of its rooms. 
The source added that the ministry formed a committee for the reopening of
the Iraqi museum along with the provision of the necessary prerequisites,
security, again in early next year
The museum has been subjected for large robberies following the fall of the
former regime where it is estimated that the number of the stolen
antiquities from the museum by more than eight thousand assorted pieces.
The source explained that the opening of the museum would be, a great event
reflecting the new image about the reality of the new Iraq.
