Dinosaur missing from exhibit in Elgin
16 October 2005

ELGIN, Ill. Police in Elgin are searching for "Emily," and she should be
pretty easy to spot. "Emily" is about eight feet long -- a fiberglass
dinosaur painted to resemble a Canada goose.

An Elgin police officer assigned to Elgin Community College discovered
Friday afternoon that "Emily" was missing from her cement pad on the campus.

Denise Raleigh, a spokeswoman for Gail Borden Public Library, says it is
unclear whether "Emily's" disappearance is some sort of prank or a case of
outright theft.

"Emily" is among 25 "Dinos on Parade," a public art project begun months ago
that was modeled on Chicago's "Cows on Parade."
