Iraq's greatest treasure starts world tour in October


A Danish firm has organised the travelling show which will raise over $10
million for the National Museum in Baghdad- By Martin Bailey 


LONDON. The Art Newspaper can reveal that an exhibition of the Nimrud Gold,
a cache of ancient jewellery which was rescued from a Baghdad bank vault, is
to open on 23 October, at a venue in Europe to be announced next month. The
show will then tour to 11 other cities in Europe, North America and the Far
East, raising over $10 million for Iraq's National Museum.

British Library set to return Benevento Missal

The Benevento Missal is to be returned to Italy, as a result of a claim
submitted following an investigation by The Art Newspaper. On 23 March the
UK's Spoliation Advisory Panel recommended that the British Library should
restitute the 12th century manuscript to Benevento cathedral.
