Teen gets four years in prison for comic book theft
July 21, 2005
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. A teen gets a stiff prison term from a Flagstaff judge for
stealing a collection of rare comic books.
Eighteen-year-old Devin Fredericks pleaded guilty to breaking into a home
and swiping the 140-thousand-dollar collection in February. He allegedly
stole the books to buy drugs and alcohol.
The comic books, which had been sold to a used book retailer, were returned
to their owner.
Fredericks received a four-year prison term for trafficking in stolen
property and burglary.
He won't be eligible for parole until he serves at least 85 percent of his
sentence.
