300-Pound Sculpture Stolen
Apr 21, 2005 4:36 pm US/Central
Minneapolis (WCCO) A 300-pound sculpture was stolen from a Minneapolis
parking lot Thursday afternoon, officials said.
"Twisted Steel," a piece by John Poole, was taken from the Smith Foundry
parking lot at 1855 East 28th Street, where Poole had been working on it for
the past year.
The sculpture was scheduled for installation Monday near the foundry in a
newly opened section of the Midtown Greenway. It was to be formally
dedicated on Arbor Day, May 7.
Poole began work on the piece in 1997.
Anyone with information about the sculpture is asked to contact Minneapolis
police or the artist. The artist can be reached at 612-529-5902.
